Working together to support our first responders

We loved being part of the Fortem Australia Transition and Employment Canberra event June 2022.

It was great to see the turnout, including quite a few supporters from the Australian Federal Police. We heard CharlesHutchin speak about his transition story, Charles has recently transitioned from NSW Police.

We enjoyed learning more about EMERGE & SEE and their fury support crew. Innoclub was innovative as ever, ACT Corrective Service shared what it was like working on the inside, KMPG shared their transition stories and what it’s like working within a big 4 and Tim Gibson from Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation briefed us on preparing financially.

And finally, our inspirational CEO Sarah Torode-Martin spoke about her transition from the AFP, overcoming adversity and what happens when we face our fears. Sarah said “No matter who we are, what rank we are, we are all human, we all have ups and downs in life, we all have our fears, we all have our own shadow, which is what makes it so important to remain connected, to find your tribe to walk our path with us because it can be tough sometimes”.

What is your biggest fear? Ask yourself…what’s really standing in your way. Will you choose your fear or courage to take your leap of faith.

A big thank you to Mark Leatham, Elise Stephens Rick Lenarcic from Fortem for organising such a successful event.
